Review: e.l.f Lip Scrub Exfoliator in Brown Sugar.

Hey guys! So I’ve been wanting a lip scrub since forever, and had been searching high and low for a scrub that doesn’t involve me having to scoop it out of a little container and pretty much just something mess free but that also works and is easy to take around with me whenever I need it! I had previously used a scrub from Lush that I just didn’t get on with at all and couldn’t justify the price tag either.

So I recently discovered the e.l.f lip exfoliator in store at my local Superdrug and decided to give it a go. Priced at £4.50 I feel that it’s super affordable! I went for the “Brown Sugar” flavour and began to use it straight away!

Okay so features:

A sweet sugar and smoothing sensation, infused with Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Avocado, Grape & Jojoba oils to nourish and protect.

My Review:

I was so excited to try this lip scrub out, and as soon as I opened the lid I fell in love with the smell of the brown sugar flavour, it smelt good enough to eat!

I applied the scrub to my lips in the evening as part of my skincare regime, I made sure my lips were a little moist before applying as instructed on the directions and left on for a couple of minutes. When I wiped the scrub away with a warm wet cotton pool pad, my lips were instantly so soft and exfoliated! I conditioned my lips afterwards with a lip balm (I use Nivea) to nourish them further.

I actually apply my lip scrub to my lips every other day at the moment and would absolutely purchase this scrub again in the future. At £4.50 it’s a real bargain, it’s mess and stress free and does what it says on the tin! Perfect.

Out of 5 stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I hope you guys enjoyed this review! Do you use a lip scrub? If so what do you recommend?

Review: Soap & Glory’s “The Ultimelt” Hot Cloth Cleanser.

I’ve seriously been slacking with blogging lately, life’s kinda got in the way and there’s truly just not enough hours in the day sometimes.

I’m a sucker for a hot cloth cleanser, so I decided to review The Ultimelt by Soap & Glory. My sister has sworn by this cleanser for years now and it’s definitely her favourite, so I was really excited to give it a go myself.

Available from Boots, this cleanser usually retails for £10, however at the moment is half price at just £5 which is an absolute bargain! Packaging wise, I personally love. All the soap and glory products generally come in really nice packaging so this hot cloth cleanser is no exception and definitely caught my eye on the shelf.

Inside the box, you get the white tube of cleanser, along with a muslin type face cloth, which is a really good quality cloth as well.

The Ultimelt cleanser, is suitable for all skin types and claims to act as a deep purifying hot cloth cleanser with provitamin B5, sweet almond, orange & lavender oils.

My review:

So I’m generally a fan of the Soap & Glory range anyway, so I was really excited to try this hot cloth cleanser. I like hot cloth cleansers because the cream based cleanser really leaves my skin feeling super squeaky clean and refreshed opposed to micellar waters or the dreaded face wipes. We’re all guilty of using both aren’t we?

I absolutely loved the scent from this Ultimelt cleanser, it was strong and resembled something you’d find in a high end beauty salon.

I massaged the cream based cleanser into my face and neck and it felt light weight and non oily which is a huge bonus, as so many of these cream type cleansers can be so incredibly greasy in texture, and if you happen to have an oily skin type, you’ll want to avoid this where you can. I left the cleaner on my face to really absorb for a couple of minutes, before washing it off with the muslin cloth and warm water.

I really loved the feeling of my skin once I had washed this off, it felt clean, soft and super hydrated! I’ll definitely be re-purchasing this again I think and would highly recommend.

Out of 5 stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I hope you enjoyed this review type post. I believe in maintaining a really good skincare routine and I absolutely love trying new things out. My skin is super sensitive so a lot of the time it’s very much a case of trial and error with what will work for my skin type.

Have you tried this cleanser? Are you a Soap & Glory fan too?

Sending love,

My cleaning must haves

So I’ve done a few posts like this in the past, but never a full list of my cleaning go to’s and must haves. Tazmyn told me to do this post, because my cupboard is literally brimming of products I use on a daily basis so I thought I’d share them with you, for all you clean freaks out there like me! 😇🌿💓

These are my most favourite cleaning items! I’m going to break it down and talk about each item here, including the price and where you can find them too. I’m going to start by saying my favourite shop for cleaning products is without a doubt Wilkos. I genuinely just love Wilkos, I love that they have their own brand of things and everything’s so cheap as well! You can find pretty much everything in there too and it’s just great! Majority of the items in the photo above can be found in Wilkos as well as other stores too!

Okay, so how cute are these baskets? £1 each from Poundland, super cute for every day use, either for cleaning products or whatever you want to put in them! I’ve used the purple basket for cleaning products for upstairs, and the pink one for my anti bac wipes downstairs! I’m sure I’ll find other uses for them too.

My favourite washing up liquid! 60p from Sainsbury’s, this is actually a limited edition one but they’ve stocked it for a while now so maybe it’ll be here for good! I love the smell!

Tumble dryer sheets! Oh my god, these are just the best things ever. I actually used the Lenor summer breeze version of these before but didn’t like the scent very much, but these Wilkos Vanilla & Lavender ones smell amazing and have so many uses. Obviously you can use them in the tumble dryer with your clothes, but I also like to stick a sheet in each cushion cover on my sofa, as well as down the back of the sofa too. We also have a few in between clothes in our chest of drawers and I put some in the book shelf in my lounge too, just for added freshness everywhere! These are priced at £1 so absolute bargain! Love them, and I always have them in the house.

Dishmatic! Don’t we all have one of these in our kitchens? I just purchased my pink one, but I love these, and they’re so handy to have! £1 from Wilkos, but they sell these pretty much everywhere, although I don’t think everywhere does the limited edition pink though!

Duck! Okay, so I’ve tried every single scent in the duck toilet cleaner, and the Mint is definitely my favourite! I am a little obsessed with cleaning my toilets, and do them every single night! There’s nothing nicer then the smell of mint coming from your toilets, god I sound so old! 🤦🏻‍♀️ From Wilkos and Poundstretcher this is £1, some supermarkets vary in price so always get the best bargain where you can!

Bloo foam aroma – I discovered this maybe 3-4 months ago now, and I am obsessed! I’ve tried the citrus fresh version and the ocean scented one too, but this is my fave, Rose & Apple blossom! Again, I use this every single night in my toilets, once I’ve scrubbed them clean, and put my mint Duck toilet cleaner all around the rim of the inside of my toilet, I go ahead and sprinkle a capful of this powder/crystals into the base of my toilet, watching it foam and fizz away is so satisfying! I leave the lid of the toilet open, and honestly the smell just radiates around the house. Who knew a clean smelling toilet could be so great?

The pink stuff! If you’re a cleaning obsessive like me and you’re into your social media, you’ll have seen this stuff raved about everywhere! It really does do what it says on the pot, it is the miracle cleaning paste! It kind of smells like sherbet, and is light pink in texture. You only need a tiny bit of it at a time, and you can literally use it on anything! I use it on my hob, all around my sink, taps and draining board! You don’t need to use it every day but I use it a couple of times a week when you really want to do a deep clean! It’s just amazing, and a tub this size lasts aaaages! This costs 99p and available from Savers.

Ironing water and Fabric Freshener! Absolute must haves. Both from Wilkos, the ironing water is 75p and the fabric freshener £1! Both smell insane, and pretty self explanatory really, can’t ever not have either of these in my house!

1001 spray! My favourite item out of all of my must haves. I get through a bottle every two days, seriously. Hooked on the stuff. So basically this is a spray you can spray all over your carpets, curtains, rugs, sofas, blankets, beds, whatever really! It comes out like snow, and it smells insane. This is my favourite scent and it’s the only one I believe in the range that is pet friendly which is a bonus for me! I use this every single day after I hoover, and it just makes everything smell and feel super fresh. It can be pricy though, I’ve shopped around and the cheapest place I can find this so far is poundstretcher that sells it for £1.50, some supermarkets retail it for up to £3.50! So definitely try to get a bargain where you can on this, especially if you end up using it as much as I do!

Anti bac sprays! So, Method is without a doubt my favourite cleaning brand. I just love it, but it’s pricy. The French lavender scent is my favourite, and sometimes you can find a good deal on it for about £2 in supermarkets, otherwise it tends to be a bit more. I’ve also shown you the Wilkos own brand in the Apple and apricot scent, which is a foam texture and I also really love, this is priced at £1 so much more reasonable. I have so many bottles of anti bac spray in my house, it’s so handy, I must wipe down my kitchen sides at least 100 times a day with this stuff, coffee tables, dining room tables, you name it!

My two absolute favourite washing softeners! The Love for Lace by Oasis, exclusive to Sainsbury’s is just unreal. It smells like perfume and I can’t get enough of the stuff. It’s priced at £2 so really really reasonable. And the new limited edition frosted pine and apple comfort, again smells insane for this time of year too! I picked up mine for £2 in Poundland but I believe poundstretcher have it too for slightly cheaper so stock up as I imagine it will sell out fast! Everyone is loving all things pine at the moment aren’t they?

My MINKY!! 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️😇 if you follow Mrs Hinch on instagram aka the cleaning guru, you will know all too well exactly what this is! The holy grail of the cleaning products. People are literally forming Facebook groups complaining that they can’t get hold of one of these as everywhere has sold out! I got mine a few weeks ago on amazon, it was £2.99 and I’ve not needed to purchase another one since. I use this with the pink stuff to rub the paste into whatever it is I’m giving a good clean, and yeah it’s great! I’ll be honest, I don’t really know why people are crying their selves to sleep at night because they can’t get hold of one though, it’s just a sponge pad in all honesty, and there’s cheaper alternatives out there, they all do the same thing! 💛

This Glade, magical forest limited edition air freshener spray at £1 from Wilkos is my favourite spray at the moment! It smells like Christmas trees, it’s so fresh and I’ve stocked up, I’ve got 5 bottles of the stuff because I’m just a crazy cleaning obsessed woman who goes through these like you wouldn’t believe!

Zoflora! Of course. I’m not going to talk too much about Zoflora because I did do a entire blog post on it and all it’s uses which you can find here – my cupboard is quite literally full of different zofloras but these are two of my faves. And I use them every single day without fail. £1 from any Poundland, supermarket, Wilkos, poundstretcher etc..

Plug ins! We have plug ins at all times in our house, usually lavender or linen fresh, but keeping with the pine theme and as a lover of all these autumnal and Christmassy, this is our new one, it smells like Christmas trees! This was £2 from Wilkos, but be careful as Sainsbury’s are selling the exact same one for £4!

Wax melts! I absolutely love wax melts, and once the house is hoovered and all clean, you want a nice candle or wax melt burning to radiate even more of a lovely smell around the room, so this Vanilla and Tonka Bean wax melt is from Sainsbury’s and was reduced to £1.25 so it would have been rude not to buy it! I usually buy all my wax melts from Instagram independent stores so I’ll keep that for another blog post maybe, but for this price you can’t complain, and it smells lush!

Anti bac wipes! I literally don’t understand why people buy branded names of these that are stupid prices, they all do the same thing at the end of the day in my opinion! These Apple and apricot ones, smell lovely and are priced at 50p per pack at Wilkos. Dirt cheap and so great to have in the house for whenever you need them. I have a pack of these in the upstairs bathroom at all times, a pack in the downstairs toilet at all times, and a few packs in different scents under the kitchen sink too! They do the exact same ones in lemon at Wilkos too for 50p!

Lastly on my cleaning product must haves, is my homemade febreeze spritz! Right so for this, you need a spritz bottle – £1 from Wilkos, your favourite fabric softener and your favourite Zoflora. I’ve used linen fresh recently because combined with this softener it smells insane. So 2 capfuls of softener, 1 capful of Zoflora and the rest of the bottle water. I spritz this absolutely everywhere, sofas, curtains, carpets, bed, towels, etc! Every night before bed I spritz the shit out of everything with this, it’s just so satisfying knowing you’ll wake up to nice, fresh smelling furniture haha 🤣💓 you know you’re gonna go and make one yourself now don’t you? Do it!

So that’s it guys, that’s my cleaning must haves! I hope you enjoyed this post 😘

Blog Update

When I started this blog, it was for no other reason than my love for writing. I’ve always been a sharer, good with words some have said, and I’ve found writing a form of therapy. When we got married I thought it would be a beautiful way to document the first year of marriage by creating this blog, a place where I could write about the things we do, the memories we have made and the places we have visited.

Since then, my views have been mind blowing. Literally. I’ve worked super hard on promoting this blog and asked for feedback from my readers, but I never once anticipated it getting to the point where brands and companies would be reaching out to me for paid posts, sponsored posts and being gifted items to review on the blog. I’ve reached out to companies too, some with no reply at all, some rejection emails, and then the agonising wait before you finally get the response you had been hoping for.

A hotel that Tazmyn and I have visited often for drinks and food, but never actually stayed at for the night, have reached out to me and invited us for a complementary stay with them, inclusive of an evening meal/lunch and breakfast the following morning. To some people this is nothing, and they get thrown opportunities like this all of the time, but for me this is huge. It may be a hotel only a couple of minutes from where we live, and walking distance from the house I grew up in, but this is the start of more than I ever imagined. We absolutely love staying in hotels (we have stayed in many), we love eating at different restaurants and visiting new places, I love to review places, and make a habit of reviewing everywhere we ever stay, so I am super excited and grateful to have been given this amazing opportunity. The review of this hotel will go straight on to my blog, and I can’t wait to share our experience with you all.

Thank you to all of my readers who continue to read my posts, every single day. Some of you have told me how challenging it is to post daily, and asked me how I always have something to write about, the truth is, I find it so easy. The key to writing and producing content worthy of gaining any sort of traffic is simply, planning. I always plan my posts, I am forever writing notes down of things I want to say, stuff we experience together as a married couple, places we go, plans we have coming up, products I love, food I’ve recently cooked, meals she’s made, as long as you keep your niche organic and true to who you are as a person, and are passionate about the things you write about, you will never run out of things to say. I truly believe that.

& Thank you to the companies and the brands who have reached out to me, given me the most incredible feedback, offered me an opportunity or sent me products to review.. you are more than I ever imagined, seriously, and I am so honoured to be able to do this. And this, is only just the beginning.

Lots of love,

  • We spent the full day cleaning, what’s new? I think when you’re house proud and organised (which I am these days thanks to Tazmyn) you automatically just want to clean and it becomes part of your daily routine. We did laundry, put laundry away, I hoovered downstairs, Tazmyn hoovered upstairs. That’s the rule. I never hoover upstairs. Sprayed the shit out of all the carpets with my 1001 spray, blitzed the kitchen, done the toilets, Tazmyn cleaned the bedroom, refreshed the sofas and made them look alive again, put fresh water in the flowers, wiped down the sides, took the rubbish out, fed the kitty cats, filled out some paperwork that I had been putting off for weeks, had a bath, washed my hair, done a hair mask AND I EVEN COOKED DINNER 😮😳 I know right, you’ve probably died in shock, but it’s true. I even cooked dinner. I cook as little as possible if I’m honest with you, not because I’m lazy and can’t be bothered, I’m not very good at it but I’ll at least give it a go.. but because I have a wife who I reckon could quite easily get a job working in a Michelin star restaurant so why in the name of lord suffering Jesus Christ would I even waste my time cooking when she always does it better?! That’s my excuse anyway.
  • Ive been using some new products as part of my bath routine so thought I’d list them here.
  • Radix shower mousse
  • I saw this when I was in Sainsbury’s recently, it was down from £2.50 to £1.50 absolute bargain! So I picked up the mango and mandarin scent, they had a few others to choose from as well. It’s like a shaving cream but works as a body wash too, and it smells insane. I used it in the bath and it felt amazing on my skin so I’d definitely use it again and maybe try the other scents next time too. Have you used this? If so, what scent did you go for?
  • Umberto Giannini hair mask
  • I am a huuuuuuge fan of hair masks. I use them at least once a week, usually twice. Lately I’ve been using this over indulge mask mainly because the smell is just absolutely unreal, it’s minty and leaves my hair feeling super hydrated and moisturised. I put it on my hair after shampoo and conditioning it, I rinse off the conditioner, comb my hair through and then apply this hair mask and literally leave on overnight. The following time I wash my hair and then blow dry it and straighten it, it always go super sleek and glossy because of using this prior. I love this mask and I’ve used hundreds!
  • The body shop almond milk yoghurt
  • How is this only £6 that’s what I wanna know, I’d pay double for it. Firstly it smells unreal but it also comes in so many different scents so if almond milk isn’t your thing then don’t worry, you will find a scent you prefer. Tazmyn has the banana one and I HATEEEEE the smell of banana, it literally makes me want to throw up. I smother myself in this after a bath, it absorbs into the skin immediately and just feels amazing. This will be on my Christmas wish list! Maybe 10 of them.
  • Endless Love VS
  • Am I the only person who puts perfume/body mist on after a bath and before bed? I’ve done it all my life and it makes me feel fresh and clean and smelling good. This is my absolute favourite Victoria Secret spray. It used to be available in Superdrug for like £12 I think, then it discontinued 😩😩😩😩 so Tazmyn tracked it down for my birthday online and probably paid 10 times the original price, but it’s my fave and it smells sooooooo good! 🍎🌸🌿💓
  • I came out of my bath to the cutest little note, she has a habit of doing this for me from time to time.. it really is the little things that mean the most!
  • She da best! 💌☺️
  • & yeah, I made dinner. I wouldn’t exactly say it was anything worth writing home about but I’m Italian and I know how to throw together a pasta dish or two. This was super super quick and easy.
  • Decided to be all fancy and buy a posh packet of pasta. Huuuuuuge shells. We hadn’t had this pasta shape before so thought we’d try it. Quorn meatballs, not because they’re healthier then regular meatballs, but because we love them, they’re super quick to cook and full of flavour!
  • So I fried the meatballs in fry light, chilli flakes and garlic pepper. They honestly don’t take long to cook at all, maybe a few minutes but I cooked them for extra long so they turned a bit crisper and that’s how we like them. For the sauce, I literally got a bottle of tomato and garlic passata. Simple but tasty. When the meatballs were brown and crispy, I went ahead and added the passata. Added a few more chilli flakes and some black pepper. Had this on a really low heat while I boiled the pasta.
  • This particular pasta shape took 17-19 minutes to cook, felt like a million years but because the shells are so big I guess that’s why it took longer.
  • Not to blow my own trumpet but it tasted pretty good. Of course there was loads of left overs, there always is. Tazmyn said it’s the best pasta she’s ever had (she says that every bloody time I cook pasta!)
  • Who’s been watching big brother? Beside myself that it’s the last ever series but it’s sooooo good!! We want Lewis F to win now. I think he will. Who’s ya fave?
  • Perfect Autumn Day 🍂🧡

I took you for breakfast this morning, you had a red berry smoothie and I had tropical. You said you thought it was cute how you have brown sauce with your bacon and I always have red. It was the first day so far where I’ve actually felt like it’s autumn. We had a mooch about the garden centre, got excited about the fact their Christmas display is nearly up, talked about how we want to take your parents there when they visit, we found conkers on the ground.. “put some in your bag to take home because they keep spiders away” is what you told me, right after I took a photo of them. All the leaves have changed their colour now, we went for a walk, it’s not hoodie weather just yet but i know it won’t be long.

My mama has left for Ibiza. She was a bundle of nerves on the phone to me telling me how she’s lost her make up bag and that she had to go to Superdrug this morning to buy the essentials, I’m certain I get my disorganisation from her. I hope she has the best 8 days and brings us back presents. She always does.

We came home and put our pyjamas straight back on, I painted my nails.. red because I’m in that kind of mood. We stripped the bed, and used our new oasis washing softener that literally smells like a £60 bottle of perfume, I’m gonna shave my legs later because please tell me what better feeling there is than getting into freshly clean sheets with silky smooth legs? You can’t.

You made us a midweek roast for dinner. Beef because it’s my favourite, we hardly ever have beef. I made the glaze for the beef like I always do, honey, balsamic, crushed garlic, sea salt and black pepper. I’m gonna make you love beef one day. You introduced me into cheesy leeks, it’s been 2 and a half years, you’ve cooked me 100 roast dinners and we still have never had them together.. I’m a fan though. It was the best roast dinner I have ever had in all of my life. I know I say that every time you make me a roast or any meal, but seriously, it was the best. Where did I find you? Who made you? How lucky am I that you’re all mine and I’m the one that gets to experience your amazing cooking every single day of my life? Food is 1 million percent the way to my 💗

We spent the majority of the afternoon and evening snuggled on the sofa, I somehow managed to twist your arm enough into watching Mrs Doubtfire with me. You usually hate all the films I love. I think it’s devastating that children born in this day and age don’t have films like the films I watched growing up. Mrs Doubtfire, Matilda, Curly Sue, The Little Princess, The Secret Garden.. thankful to be a 90s baby right now. This evening we watched the brand new series of The Apprentice, I think this is either the 3rd or 4th season we have started to watch together, we love it!

Today has been one of my absolute favourite days, we even lit my bath and body works candle that you got me for my birthday, I have been waiting for the autumn to actually start using it.. bath and body works are without the doubt the best candle brand in all the world. Expensive but so worth it! Do you remember when I had the chocolate pistachio bath and body works candle? And our entire flat smelt like mint chocolate chip 😍✨

Hoping for many more perfect autumn days like today, and I’m so lucky I get to spend them all with you 💓
