Another blog post bought to you by the brains of my wonderful wife.
I love food, I’m an absolute foodie, but I’m fussy too and there’s things I hate.
• Tomatoes – not like ketchup or pasta sauce or pizza sauce but like actual whole tomatoes. And I call myself Italian? 🤦🏻♀️😳
• Roast Pork And Roast Lamb
• Tuna – when people go into subway and ask for a 6 inch tuna cheese and toasted, are you feeling okay hun?
• Cheese and onion crisps – the smell 😷🤮
There’s probably like 300 other things I hate as well but these are the mains, so if you ever invite us for dinner, be sure to check here first for cross reference and to avoid awkward “I’m just so full, I had a really big lunch” conversations.
What foods do you hate? I’d love to know 🧡
I spoke about you today, you being this blog of course. I spoke about you to somebody who doesn’t have the foggiest about technology and blogs and this sort of thing. They smiled and nodded, and probably don’t really understand why something that seems so tiny to them, is actually so big to me. I’ve always been a sharer, sometimes I’ve shared too much, and it’s got me into all kinds of trouble, maybe because I come with no filter and I have an opinion on most things that go on in the world, but sharing is good for the most part. I’ve always been a let it out kind of girl opposed to the keep it in type. So yeah, you’re a pretty big deal to me right now. You are a little space where I’m going to capture so many memories that go on over the course of the next year, and you’re a challenge too, because I give up with most things I set out to do, not for lack of trying, but because I get bored easily and lose interest, but you’re the challenge that I’m ready for, to post once a day for 365 days, even on the days I don’t feel like washing my hair, I’ll be writing to you, you’re going to hear it all, the good, the bad, the boring and the very best memories that come from the first year of married life.
Tazmyn has been accepting of my extreme cleaning obsession. It is extreme, ever since discovering Mrs Hinch on instagram, my small routine of cleaning the kitchen has broadened hugely to suddenly loving hoovering. I used to hate hoovering! I’ve had messages asking me to start up a cleaning Instagram page and share cleaning hacks etc, but I’d just feel silly because they’re not my own, I’ve literally got them all from inspirational accounts on Instagram, mainly Mrs Hinch. She introduced carpet fresh into my life, and now I’m hooked. It’s a spray for the carpets! In all different scents! When you spray it on it’s actually like snow, but it dissolves in seconds and it’s amazing. I got through one bottle in two days, so it’s just as well I discovered them in pound stretcher today for £1.50 a bottle! (They’re £2.80 in Sainsbury’s, I know! 🙄) and Duck toilet cleaner in the pine scent! Oh my gosh, don’t even get my started on that – £1 a bottle from just about anywhere, and I’m quite literally pouring it down my toilet like you wouldn’t believe.
Tess Holliday recently made the front cover of Cosmopolitan and I’m so fiercely proud of that. A plus size model on the front cover of a magazine I have grown up reading, she’s going to change lives. It’s about time young girls have someone real to look up to and know that it’s ok to be who you are, that you don’t have to change to fit into any criteria that is deemed as “normal” there’s no such thing. I wish Tess Holliday was on the front cover of a magazine when I was a little girl, maybe it would have changed a lot of my thought process over the years growing up.
We shared a pizza tonight, Tazmyn’s got me into sweetcorn, how did this even happen? We watched eastenders, I hate Honey for leaving Billy, nobody loves her like he loves her. They will find there way back though. We fed the cats Tuna, my god it stinks but they polished the bowls off and have full bellies now. 43 minutes until our body shop order is getting delivered – yeah we made friends with a body shop consultant in our area, still not sure how sensible that was. She has extremely tempting deals every single day, so I’m almost certain that between this, my cleaning obsession and my wife’s cooking, we’re going to be in trouble. On the plus side, our skin is glowing and the house has never looked better.
I’m rambling, I’ll save the rest until tomorrow.
That’s what I’m going to call it. Dumping my thoughts. Expect a lot of these over the next 335 days, oh my god 335 days seems so bloody much, I’m only 30 days into this blog! 🤦🏻♀️
I feel like I want and need to make this blog more personal, more like a diary, more about me, about us, about what I think and what we do, rather than focusing too much on who’s reading and whether I’m getting enough traffic each day. That’s not what the intension was when I first set out and created this blog. It was a space where I could document the first year of married life, the butterflies and the boundaries, so today I’m grounding myself back to that, and going to try to steer this blog back into the direction I want it to go. There’s still going to be recipes, because that’s who we are as a couple, absolute foodies who love to cook and more importantly love to eat, Tazmyn is the most insanely talented cook and the stuff she cooks deserves to be documented and remembered, and the stuff I attempt to concoct in the kitchen, yeah, maybe just needs to stay in the kitchen 🙄 – although, I do make a good chilli, and I am attempting to create a chicken Balti curry tonight for dinner. I marinated my chicken this morning so now I’m feeling like I have my life somewhat together. I even managed two loads of laundry by 9am, the early bird catches the worm & all that.
The cast of Towie have just been on This Morning chatting to Eamon and Ruth about the new series that starts at the weekend, I love Towie, although I feel like it’s become so much more scripted over the recent years. I feel sad that Arg is now back in rehab, and my predictions about Gemma & his relationship may have been right, a big showmance all along after all. It was entertaining while it lasted though, right? Georgia is still my favourite cast member, she’s so real. When is Tommy going to propose? They’re the real deal.
I think I might hoover again, I’ve hoovered the house every day for the past 3 days, not sure if it’s because it actually needs doing or because I’m too obsessed with my carpet freshener spray which smells of fresh linen and white flowers and I can’t get enough of it. Right now I think it’s because Phil Vickery is about to cook something amazing and I’ll be too hungry if I watch it.
I’ve never once missed a series. I’m obsessed. I even auditioned for Big Brother when I was 19, oh those were the days, looking back, it’s definitely not the sort of place I’d want to be, but I am a die hard fan and I absolutely love it.
Last night was launch night for this years Celebrity big brother. I love launch night, armed with haribo, praline magnums and Diet Coke, we were ready for two whole hours of my favourite reality tv show ever. I was actually really impressed with this years line up, I knew of every single person who entered the house, I do most years actually but sometimes there’s the odd one or two i’ve never heard of.
So for those of you who maybe missed last nights launch, and don’t know who went in, or maybe never even watched big brother before and want to know what it’s all about, here’s what you need to know:
When’s it on?
Every night on channel 5 at 9pm for an hour.
How many weeks does it last?
The celebrity one is on for 4 weeks.
Who’s in the house?
Kristie Alley – American actress, you may know her from the look who’s talking movies.
Ryan Thomas – English actor, best known for playing Jason Grimshaw in Corrie.
Jermaine Pennant – former Arsenal football player.
Chloe Ayling – British glamour model, recently in the media after being kidnapped in Milan.
Rodrigo Alves – Known as the “human ken doll” after having 60 different plastic surgeries.
Dan Osborne – Former Towie star, married to Jaqueline Jossa from eastenders.
Gabby Allen – From Love Island season 3, hit the headlines recently after cheating rumours came out about her and married Dan Osborne.

Tazmyn and I each wrote down who we think is going to win the entire series, based on just the launch night. We each wrote our predictions down on our phones and then showed each other, of course we both wrote the same person.. Ryan Thomas!
Did you watch it? If so, what are your initial thoughts and predictions? Let me know!
Also, prepare for a lot more big brother themed posts going on here over the next few weeks, we are CBB and BB junkies! 🤣
